From National Bagel Day – Bagel Trivia- Bagels have made their way to outer space thanks to Canadian-born astronaut Gregory Chamitoff. He’s the first space monkey to have taken a batch of 18 sesame seed bagels into space on his 2008 Space Shuttle mission to the International Space Station.

From My Jewish Learning – 7 Incredible Ways to Eat Bagels and Lox It’s National Bagels & Lox Day, and to celebrate this chewy, briny match made in heaven, we’d like to spotlight the many ways in which these two complementary foods can be enjoyed.
At Foodimentary –February 9th is National Bagel and Lox Day! The word Bagel is often thought to have derived from the ‘buckle‘ shape it has, but actually it is from a Yiddish word ‘beygl‘ meaning ring or hole.

And Zabar’s celebrated in 2015 on their blog with this beautiful image. I love this place, and never skip it When I visit New York!zabars
